On Thursday evening, March 21 2024, a massive fire struck the slums of Tondo, Manila. In 7 hours, the blaze destroyed approximately 140 houses, partially gutted 60 more, and displaced around 600 families, totaling roughly 1,800 individuals, according to the local Bureau of Fire Protection. Currently, people are living on the streets or in cubicle tents set up on basketball courts. Some of our students and their families are also affected by the fire and its aftermath…
Immediate response from the local government, as well as Young Focus and other NGOs aim to provide food and shelter. Hopefully, soon we can also begin rebuilding homes. We want to extend our help to these people in need and would ask for your participation in that effort.
Please visit www.youngfocus.org/fire and donate so we can support the families affected by the fire as much as possible.
